…where the past still speaks

Why I Write

I grew tired of “historical” films and series where only fragments of the past survived beneath layers of invention.
As a Scandinavian historian, I wanted to tell these stories as they truly were — raw, human, and shaped by faith, power, and the cold light of the North.
History, to me, is not decoration. It is memory — and memory deserves honesty.

A series of eight books with accompanying allegories of their age, exploring Scandinavian and British history from 935 to 1370 — dramatized yet firmly grounded in fact and history.

The Stones of Gorm

Beginning in the Viking Age and following the rise of Europe’s oldest monarchy, this book traces the journey from Odin and Thor to the invasions of England and the struggle for power that ended in misfortune. A perfect introduction for readers who love epic adventure — yet want it firmly grounded in real history.

Deliberately written as an accessible entry point, each chapter can be read on its own, allowing you to explore the era further at your own pace.

Wolves in the Hall

In 1042, the last Danish king of England died — and with him ended an era of northern rule. Yet the struggle for the English crown was far from over. Rival claimants rose, and the great Danish invasions of 1069 and 1075 nearly changed the fate of both the British Isles and Scandinavia.

We follow the unfolding drama: a crusade is called, and a king who once met the emperor of Constantinople meets his end upon the distant shores of Cyprus.
